POLO– The Polo Public Library is offering a full calendar of activities throughout August, with programs for fitness enthusiasts, history buffs, gamers, families, and book lovers.
The month begins with DrumFit from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, giving participants a fun, music-filled workout.
Regular weekly programs continue with Minecraft Club every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and Dungeons & Dragons every Thursday at 5 p.m., providing opportunities for youth to build creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
The library’s Board of Trustees will meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
The library will be closed Friday, Aug. 14, for a staff development day.
Family history researchers can take advantage of two genealogy programs during the month. A Genealogy Open House will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 15, followed by an evening Genealogy Group meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Fitness programming returns with another DrumFit session from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, while Yoga will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
One of the month’s biggest events will take place on Thursday, Aug. 20, when the library hosts an Open House and Ribbon Cutting from 5 to 7 p.m. Residents are invited to tour the library, celebrate its continued service to the community, and see what’s new. Earlier that day, the library will also host a Book 2 Movie program at the Senior Center beginning at 11 a.m.
Community service opportunities are also on the calendar. A Blood Drive will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, and the library’s Book Club will meet the same day at 1 p.m.
